WHO I AM
I am an architect and university lecturer with several years of experience in environmental engineering and sustainable design.
My principal research line at the Chair of Building Technology and Climate Responsive Design is focused on microclimate and outdoor comfort in urban space.
Besides my academic activity, I consult architecture firms on environmental aspects: from operational energy performance to indoor and outdoor comfort levels.
I am also active as a free-lance journalist and author.
HOW IT STARTED
During my studies in Rome and Vienna, my passion for architecture grew towards sustainability in a wide sense. What I missed was a profound consciousness about environmental issues in architectural practice.
After my degree I practiced architectural design at different scales. During this experience I decided to apply for the ClimaDesign Master at TUM, to get more confident with tools and methods required to create sustainable designs.
The expertise I achieved gave me the opportunity to work as a free-lance consultant for different architecture and engineering firms in Italy and in Germany, supporting private companies, institutions and public agencies on issues related to sustainable development and energy efficient planning from the preliminary design phase to the implementation process.
At the intersection between Architecture and environmental engineering, my enthusiasm for Climadesign increases constantly. The attention for immaterial qualities and for the processes that inform the transformation of the built environment, is the horizon of my attitude.
